My style is...

I've been super busy with various projects, attaining new vintage beauties, blowing up thrift shops (and by blowing up, I mean frequenting them!!), and collecting fun, new accessories for my wardrobe. See, my style really can't be defined...unless you wanna lump it under eclectic. It's a mix of kitchy, shabby, modern, vintage, & boho. Here is one of my most recent projects: Cedar Chest REDO:
Granted, this wasn't super hard, but it made a WORLD OF DIFFERENCE. By simply replacing the NAS-TAY fabric with a beachy, soft gray stripe, a very inviting seat was born! Congratulations to me!! Pass the chewing gum cigars, please! (I actually like those, by the way) Check out these babies. Three mason jars with candles placed inside. Country, warm, soothing, you get my drift.
And check this-- a vintage owl bank that I scored for 0.25 cents, an old window pane for $5, and some other randomness!
And LAST but CERTAINLY NOT least, these 1980's eyelet purses. SERIOUSLY, straight from the 80's! They make me SO happy...see... =)
STAY TUNED FOR MY FASHION POST....COMING SOON, or in an hour or two. I will be serving up some of my most adorable, key wardrobe items! So, come hungry!! =)

More junk? Yes, please! I'm going to share more of my junk, er treasures, with you! I scored these slick, black candleholders for $2.50!! Yay!! These are sexy, right? Picture this: pillar candles in white for a nice contrast, eh! Yeah, that's hot! :)

I am also sharing my menagerie display. For now, it is on the ladder shelf. But a more fitting, permanent home is in the works! Notice the shabby chic book collection...I ADORE shabby chic design! It's VERY hard to combine shabby chic with modern...but I try!!

So let me share with you my latest craigslist score! A 2x3 silver, wood framed mirror... I had been haggling, emailing this broad for several weeks. I was emailing from my account, Steve's account, even Christy was kind enough to try and haggle her down. She DID budge $5 bucks!! Yay! A new, unused ($79.99) mirror for $25 bucks...yes, please!! I brought my muscle, er Steve, and we picked that baby up! I can't wait to hang it!! (pictures to come soon)

Trash to Treasure....sort of...

Their trash is MY treasure! As promised (see previous post), here are some of my cheap, yet adorable finds from local junk, thrift, and second-hand stores. I am a LOVER of all things vintage!! Enjoy...if you like that sort of thing! There are a few more of my "treasures" that I'm going to share, as soon as I get them photographed!! :)

New Stuff...

As if I'm NOT busy enough with three boys, a part-time nursing gig, selling cupcakes AND Thirty-One products, I have taken on a new hobby, or two.

I've been flexing my creative muscle with random photography and perusing junk stores, thrift stores, and second hand stores looking for goodies. NOT just ANY goodies-- very specific goodies!

I'm starting a new collection-- a white menagerie. So far, I have grabbed a white deer and white bird for under three clams! Cheap hobby, huh? Also, I'm looking for frames, mirrors, and such that need love (i.e. altering). I have had some good luck on craigslist, as well. Pictures coming soon....

My Life Today...

So, today, I pick up my blog, blow away the dust, and begin to update...

It's been SO long (over 2 years) since I last posted. A lot has happened in my life. My boys are now ages 8 and 3. I am expecting baby #3 in January. We don't know the gender yet but I'll be happy with either. I now have 2 nieces, a new nephew, and a God-Daughter. That's alot of babies in 2 years!!

I'm still LOVING my job as an Infusion Nurse at The Castle (refer to post: A Promising New Year....Thursday, January 04, 2007). I work part-time so I enjoy being a Domestic Diva the rest of the time *laugh*.

Don't let the Domestic Diva part fool you. It simply means cooking, cleaning (house + kids), shopping, managing my home and working--all while trying to look good and be a Diva.

Moments in Life.......

I found this in an old email.....I felt that it was worthy of sharing.
Moments in Life

There are moments in life when you miss someone so much that you just want to pick them from your dreams and hug them for real!

When the door of happiness closes, another opens; but often times we look so long at the closed door that we don't see the one which has been opened for us.

Don't go for looks; they can deceive. Don't go for wealth; even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile, because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright. Find the one that makes your heart smile.

Dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go; be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do.

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human and enough hope to make you happy. The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.

The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; you can't go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.

When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying.

Don't count the years-count the memories...........

And, of course, MY THEME..............
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take; but by the moments that take our breath away!

Daisies For My Mom......

At the end of this month (January 30th), my mom would've been 47. However, her life was cut short by chronic liver disease.

My mom's favorite flowers were daisies. These daisies are for my mom's 47th birthday. She will be celebrating her fourth birthday in Heaven this year. How wonderful that must be!!

I still miss my mom, but I find comfort in the fact that she isn't suffering anymore. She is with her parents and the love of her life, Brian.

Happy Birthday, Momma!! We love and miss you!!
